About Anand and Soudamini Hegde

Thanks for your interest in our website! For those who don't know us, we are a couple living in Issaquah, WA, USA. We are originally from India. After we got married in 2000, we were looking for a common hobby where we both could spend some quality time together. We both liked Art and Travelling, so we thought Photography would be fun!

As we remember, after some searching on the internet, the next thing we knew was that we had a Nikon N-60 SLR and a Tamron 28-300mm lens in hand! Everyone suggested that the best way to learn photography and gain knowledge was to burn lots of film. That’s what we exactly did - we burned lots of film. Despite of burning tons of film, we didn’t seem to gain anything! The only two that gained from this were our Recycle bin and Walgreens Pharmacy where we got our prints everytime! We slowly started realizing that we may have misunderstood what everyone meant by “burning film” and that we were literally burning it since we did nothing but point and click and let camera decide everything for us! Now that we think about it, the Walgreen’s photo guy must have been laughing his ass off behind the counter everytime we stood in front of their 1 Hr photo lab counter to pick up the "burned" film exactly after 1 hr after dropping! Thats how it all started!

Our photography has changed drastically ever since we opened one of the books by John Shaw. We were amazed by his photographs and started reliazing the difference between point-and-click Photography and real Photography! What started as a common hobby has turned now into our passion.

Our goal is to capture the moment as it unfolds. We are amazed by the diversity, light and the colors of nature and are trying our best to capture it on film! We hope our photographs give you the same enjoyment that we experienced! Enjoy!
